Timucua was named after the Timucuan Indians who lived in this area of Central Florida. The community was originally built by two builders, FRC and Fairfax, who built their custom home series. The architecture is Bermuda Georgian and the columns and coins were painted white to accent these features. All the homes are distinguished by high-peaked roofs and a distinctive cupola.
M/I, a builder who purchased some of the Fairfax lots, built similar homes and kept some of the features.
FRC built out the east side of Timucua. They had six lovely models. They were three and mostly four bedroom models, some with brick accents.
The first home was completed in October 1989 and the last home was finished in March of 1995. There are 155 homes in the community. We are located off Hunter's Creek Blvd, just west of John Young Parkway. There is a lovely lake and two ponds. Most homes back up to a lake or pond, or reserve forest area. The Timucua Association works to keep this community beautiful.
