| Some simple steps to staying safe and guarding against becoming a victim:
1. Close those garage doors when you can’t keep an eye on your property. The bad guy would love to take advantage of your trust and remove your things. It only takes about 30 seconds for someone to hop from a cruising vehicle, grab your property, and hop back in.
2. Notify the Sheriff’s Office at 407-836-4357 when you observe suspicious activity, people, or vehicles. Don’t be afraid to call!
3. Arrange for your UPS driver to drop off your packages with a neighbor or provide a mat of some type to cover the item from street view. There is nothing easier than taking your stuff right off your porch.
The Off-Duty Deputy Program provides you with some extra peace of mind, with both marked and unmarked cars. Assisting us with your eyes and calling the Sheriff’s Office when something isn’t right will enable us to respond to your needs more quickly. |
