Recreational Volunteer Opportunities

FUN – most of all volunteering in recreation allows you a chance to be part of your community while having a lot of FUN – if you’d like to volunteer for an upcoming event give us a call or e-mail us at (407) 240-6000 ext. 125 or email

Movie In the Park – We need volunteers to help set up and break down equipment, as well as help with popcorn, snacks and prize distribution. Movie in the Park occurs once a month and on occasion, twice monthly.

Independence Day Celebration – Volunteers for the Independence Day Celebration help us in planning the details for the annual Fourth of July Celebration and Parade at Osprey Park. We also need day-of-event assistance in running games, selling raffle tickets and assisting along the parade route. Independence Day volunteers never walk away empty handed – you’ll get breakfast and lunch and a t-shirt for your efforts!

Hunter’s Creep Nights – The Hunter’s Creep Nights Crew is currently looking for volunteers with specialized skills such as carpenters, electricians and engineers who could lend their expertise in creating our most technical event. Of course, we’re always looking for “creepers” who want to be characters in our Haunted House or be part of designing the sets and props that are used for this event.

Camp – The Recreation Department employs an entire staff for the summer to assist us with Summer Camp, but we can still use volunteers to assist with games and activities or to come and share your expertise (former professional athlete, gourmet chef, etc.) with our group. We also have a few openings available for the position of high school counselor, which could satisfy almost all of your volunteer credits in one summer!

Larry Scott Memorial Golf Tournament – We are currently planning this year’s tournament, which will be held at the Hunter's Creek Golf Course! We are looking for volunteers to assist with everything from fundraising efforts to day-of-event responsibilities.

Bingo – Once a month on Thursdays, we host Bingo at the Osprey Park Social Center. We can always use help in setting up chairs, calling out the numbers, or helping out during the evening!
